30-Apr-2004 A nomenclature proposal
   

along the lines developed by McCusker, Engelhardt and Liebau was developed and recommended by the Commission.
However, the Commission has revisited this proposal and decided not to recommend it to the membership as the sole nomenclature for mesoporous materials. A simpler nomenclature for the most important materials seems necessary and is being developed.

   
  In cooperation with the Synthesis Commission
    (B. Shoeman), the Commission is soliciting proposals for the certified synthesis of ordered mesoporous materials. Proposals are to be made to F. Schüth, and certified syntheses will be added to the reference syntheses of the IZA.
